April 25, 2008 – Embassy announcement; it’s official :(
For some time now there has been speculation about the future of the Vietnam adoption program. Today, it became official. The Vietnam adoption program will be closing it’s doors with the United States on September 1. Here is an excerpt of the statement made today by the US Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam.
“On [...]

April 25, 2008 – Letter to Senators
The Problem
The United States Citizen and Immigration Services (CIS) and Department of State (DofS) are not adhering to the projected period for investigations which means orphans are spending months longer than they might have in orphanages. The longer children stay in orphanages, the more likely attachment disorders and developmental problems will occur. They need to [...]

April 24, 2008 – Happy 5 months!
Today Elizabeth has turned 5 months old. It is ‘killing’ me that we have now missed two months. Two months of many hugs, many kisses, and so much more.
We love you baby girl!
Happy 5 months!

April 24, 2008 – Someone’s been feeling a little left out.
After coming home last night and unloading all the great gifts from the baby shower, I think ’someone’ also known as Molly has been a little jealous. I came upstairs last night to notice the stuffed Snoopy was sitting at the top of the stairs. Somehow it had made it’s way out of [...]

April 23, 2008 – Drinking wine at my own BABY shower
Now how many expectant mothers can say they can do that?!?!

It is somewhat overwhelming to me at times as to how many people have become such a wonderful part of Elizabeth’s story.
Everyone has [...]

I have been trying to dictate little tasks for myself to do to help keep busy as we begin our wait for travel approval. This weekend my goal is to organize all the paperwork we will need for our travels; copies of dossier, 171H, Elizabeth’s papers, passports, visas, etc.
I also plan to [...]

April 17, 2008 – Rare turtle found in Vietnam
I have heard stories that people will stand at the edge of Hoan Kiem lake on the lookout for this creature. It is suppose to bring you luck if you happen to be lucky enough to spot it.
HANOI (AFP) – US researchers have found a rare giant turtle in northern Vietnam after a three-year [...]

April 15, 2008 – My Friend Fed-ex
I have just returned from another ‘I hope’ successful fed-ex trip. This is my second trip there since the whole ‘I just fed-exed my I600 papers to myself!’ fiasco and today I looked slightly more presentable (let’s notice the word ’slightly’ here). However, I still managed to have on the SAME pajama pants [...]

April 14, 2008 – Where’s our I600?
We are still awaiting receipt of our I600. I know that it left our adoption agency Friday, April 4. It was being sent to our agency staff in Vietnam where she would final check it and put it together with the last piece of information needed from the orphanage director. She will [...]
