We were very blessed to have been able to adopt our beautiful daughter from Vietnam in early 2009.  Now that we are settled into life I have decided to bring this blog back to its original intention… sharing our journey to and in parenthood with our family and friends that we do not live close by.  However, through this journey I have had the privilege to meet those in the adoption world that have both become my friends and support.  I consider these people just as important as my family.  I worry every day about the well-being of my daughter and have decided to password protect my posts from here on out.  I would like to continue to share this journey with our family and friends and those adopting or have adopted.  Please leave me a comment if you would like the password or send an email to littlebirdoldshoe.yahoo.com.  If you are reading this blog and would like the password, please just introduce yourself and I will feel a lot better about those reading.  I love to be able to share Elizabeth with others… she is a fun and quirky little girl who I thank God for everyday.

pleeeeeaaaase give us a password so we can see what you and Elizabeth are up to!

    Take care!

  • I would love the password. I have followed for a while (a silent lurker!) We have a little girl from Vietnam as well and are in the process of adopting from China. Our blog is http://www.samanthagrace.wordpress.com

  • Hi,
My daughter Aurélia (8 years old, adopted from Nam Dinh at 7 weeks) and I have been following your blog for quite a while, and we love seeing your little Elizabeth — such a lovely little girl! We live in London and have just started the process to adopt from Vietnam, which will probably mean having to live there for 6 months. I’ll quite understand if you’d prefer not to share your life with a total stranger, but we’ll miss watching Elizabeth grow!
    All the best,
    Carole

I have enjoyed so much being able to keep up with you, Erik, and Elizabeth through this site. Having gotten to know Erik through his days in Sherrard and also knowing all your family through the school, it was nice to be able to see how Elizabeth is progressing and hearing about her activities with the rest of the family.

  • password please :)

Emily: You may not remember me but I use to work with Erik when he worked at the University of Iowa Foundation– I met you once or twice but it has been a long time. I take a look at your blog every once in awhile to read about your amazing journey with Elizabeth….you both are VERY STRONG people! I can’t imagine the ups and downs you went through but I am so happy for the both of you that it has turned out the way it has! She is a beautiful little girl.

I would love the opportunity to be able to continue to read about Elizabeth but I completely understand if you want to limit it to more close friends. I have two children myself, Madison and Garrett, and I know how it is to want to protect your children as much as possible. I have a blog also but only individuals that I give permission to can view it….if you would like to read my blog please provide me with your e-mail address and I can add it.

Please tell Erik hi for me.

  • I’d love the password, even though I get to see you guys every week :)

  • Hi, it’s Jennifer from Julia’s Journey. I know I am a terrible blogger, but I’d love the password. Hope you are all doing well! :)

  • Hi Emily and Erik,

I would love to keep in touch and hear about how your family is doing. If you feel comfortable, I would love the password. Thanks.

  • Hi Emily,
I would love to have the password. I check your site every once in a while to see how your beautiful Elizabeth is doing. And even though we never were able to adopt before Vietnam closed their doors, God has blessed us with a pregnancy we never thought would happen and I’m set to deliver in 2 to 3 weeks. Take Care!
