It’s been so hard to get Elizabeth out of the house lately. As if the argument over clothes isn’t enough, now we have the cold weather to deal with. I really don’t like it either. But I realized we can’t hang out at home all winter, basically waiting for it to go away. I can really tell Elizabeth is getting some cabin fever and missing our usual routine of going places.
Today we met some friends at IKEA. You can’t beat a $2 breakfast. Especially when you never know if your kid is going to eat or not. After doing some shopping for our new basement:) Elizabeth and I went to the mall. I kind of spoiled her a little today letting her pick out a new outfit (purple and pink Hello Kitty) and some hair accessories for her doll. I don’t know what kind of phase she has been going through lately, but I thought that maybe we just needed some mommy/daughter shopping time. I’m committing myself for the next week to really just focus on her. No cleaning, or editing photos, or anything else. She keeps asking me why I always have to do so much. I’m taking it as a sign that she just needs a little more time from me right now.
We decorated magnets today for Elizabeth’s wall in the basement. We had one wall painted with magnetic and chalkboard paint and she is anxiously waiting for Monday when she can use her chalk on it. I think I am going to wait to post pictures of the basement once I have it all decorated and complete. It already looks fabulous and once done is going to be one of my most favorite spaces ever.
And don’t you just love what Elizabeth talked me into getting today? She has been dying to have this. And I am sure she will have to wear it everyday, not just with her Tangled girl costume.
